# Continuous delivery and just-in-time decisions

Technological innovation demands constant change. Overhauling digital products once every six months is not enough to keep up, and it’s neither smart nor sustainable. We must shorten iterations as much as possible to enable a constant flow of value to customers. Enter [continuous deployment](https://blog.red-badger.com/2018/7/23/how-continuous-deployment-boosts-productivity-beyond-just-your-technology-team?hsLang=en) – the primary capability engineering organisations should focus on.

Continuous deployment allows [responsiveness and extreme agility](https://content.red-badger.com/techlab-report-19/common-problem-areas/delivery-speed-and-agility?hsLang=en), and removes an entire class of problems created by scheduled weekly or monthly releases. It also forces building quality into the process and enables an incremental approach to delivery. In turn, this means all decisions can be made just-in-time, when they’re needed. Just-in-time decision making allows us to solve problems when they actually arise and take action with as much insight as possible.
